Taylor Swift receives auditorium honour
Taylor Swift has been honoured by her former high school, after the school board voted to rename its auditorium after her.
Swift donated $75,000 (£50,000) to Henderson High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee last year, enabling the school to install improved sound and lighting in the hall.
On September 21, the Sumner County School Board voted unanimously in favour of naming the upgraded venue after Swift. School board chairman Don Long added that the performer had not requested the name change herself.
Hendersonville High School’s principal Joni Worsham told the Hendersonville Star that the tribute was“an honour benefiting {Swift's} generous spirit”.
The auditorium’s name change will become official after a second meeting next month, according to CMT.
