‘Stalking’ Swift

With fellow American Taylor Swift holding a concert in Manila just a day before them, Yellowcard was asked if they’d watch her show given the chance.

The guys chorused,“Yes, absolutely!”

Apparently, Manila is the third city they would play in after Swift, who is also on a world tour of her own dubbed“Speak Now.”

“We’re kind of following her. We played the night in Osaka after she played. We played two nights in Tokyo after she played. And now we’re here in Manila. We’re not stalking her,” said he, making everyone laugh.

Key recalled meeting the singer for the first time in 2004 at a corporate function in Minnesota where they were both invited to perform.

“She played first or second, you know, she was great but it was before I think even her first record has really come out. We were on the bus with her and she was like taking pictures with us and it was just really cool because she was probably, what, like 16 at the time, 17 years old, just starting out.

“And you know, to see what has happened with her career, it’s just amazing. It was cool if we were able to be kind of a part of something that early on in someone who’s gone to be such a success, such a massive force in the music business,” said he.
